My g+ Journey

Congratulations, you are now a member of the Google Plus community. Feeling pretty good about yourself aren’t you? Want to dive right in and start finding people to connect with? Yeah so did I. Unfortunately many won’t want to talk with someone they know nothing about. Time to build my profile.

As with all social media sites the darn creators think you should display a photo of yourself to the world. Depending upon what level of security you choose online, pick an icon or photograph of yourself or a place you want others to connect with. I’m a laid back kind of person and wanted people to know that. Not sure if my choice works or not, but hey it can always be changed, right?

To Know Me Is To Love Me

Now for the good part and filling in that bio!

Introduction… Hi nice to meet you. My name is Grace. Nah that doesn’t sound right. Maybe that section will wait.

Bragging Rights… Now this sounds like fun! Okay let’s tell the world what an awesome person I am. G+ wouldn’t have put that section in there unless they wanted everyone to know, right?

Occupation, Employment, Education… Yes I keep occupied, yes I am employed, yes I am somewhat ed-u-macated. Hmm, not sure I should let people know my level of sarcasm just yet. Delete, delete, and delete.

To Share or Not To Share, That Is The Question

While I’m an outgoing person there is a certain line I draw when sharing information about myself online, same as I do in the offline world. G+ has given us all sorts of sections in the profile area such as places lived, how to contact us at work or at home, our relationship status and what we are looking for. Personally I’m looking for the bedroom TV remote I lost in the most recent move, but I don’t think anyone on G+ can help with that.
